Our Story
The SkinBiome Co.'s story began with our Founder, Dr Davide Pennino. Like many new fathers, Dr Pennino was worried about exposing his infant son to the negative effects of using topical steroids for skin disorders.
Dr Pennino spent over a decade studying the mechanisms underpinning skin disorders and the role of the skin microbiome in contributing to skin health and integrity.
He decided to use his expertise to develop a good solution for skin disorders, and The SkinBiome Co.'s solution was discovered after years of intensive research.
The SkinBiome Co. was founded with the vision to develop safe and highly effective skincare products backed by solid scientific evidence.
Nearly 1 in 4 children are affected by Eczema. Despite the risk of notable side effects, topical steroids remain the most common treatments for children. Like many parents, Dr Pennino felt extremely frustrated with the lack of effective steroid-free alternatives and poor scientific evidence supporting the safe use of other skincare products for young children.
